Phantoms used for dosimeter calibration in electron and gamma irradiation facilities

Phantoms play a critical role in the calibration and validation of dosimeters used in electron accelerator and gamma irradiation facilities. Designed in accordance with CIRM 29 Guidelines, these phantoms ensure accurate and reproducible dose measurements for radiation processing applications.

Using the same polystyrene layout as Risø calorimeters, the phantoms provide a standardized and consistent setup for dosimetry. The inserts for transfer dosimeters are precisely positioned at the same level as the calorimeter cores, enabling direct comparison between dosimeter readings and calorimetric measurements. This design ensures reliable calibration and traceability in routine and reference dosimetry.
