About us

DTU Dosimetry is a specialised laboratory at DTU Health Tech providing measurement services, calibration and expert advice within radiation dosimetry. Our activities cover both high-dose dosimetry (HDRL) for industrial irradiation processes and medical dosimetry (LFMD) supporting hospitals and radiotherapy departments.

DTU Dosimetry is part of DTU Health Tech at the Technical University of Denmark, located at Risø Campus. We bring together two specialised laboratories: the High Dose Reference Laboratory (HDRL) and the Laboratory for Fundamental Medical Dosimetry (LFMD).

Together, we provide a wide range of services. We also develop and supply specialised dosimetry products, operate advanced irradiation and measurement facilities, and offer professional training courses. Our activities are supported by ongoing research and method development.

HDRL is accredited by Danish Accreditation and Metrology Fund (DANAK) in accordance with EN ISO 17025:2017 for calibrations and dose measurements in the high-dose range 0.2 – 100 kGy.

Technical University of Denmark is appointed Designated Institute (DI) by the Danish Safety Technology Authority (“Sikkerhedsstyrelsen”) within 3 measurement areas: Length, Thermometry (Infrared) and Ionising Radiation (absorbed dose). HDRL maintains the latter within high-dose measurements for industrial applications.
