Risø B3 radiochromic dosimeter film

The B3 film provides high-resolution measurements for radiation processing

The Risø B3 radiochromic dosimeter film, manufactured by Tesa, Hamburg, is intended for high-precision measurement of absorbed dose distributions in radiation processing. It is particularly suited for use in installation qualification (IQ) and operational qualification (OQ) procedures, as well as for routine dose mapping in irradiated products.

The film exhibits a dose response range from 5 to 100 kGy, making it suitable for a wide variety of applications within industrial irradiation. Dose evaluation is carried out using either a flatbed scanner in combination with RisøScan software, or via spectrophotometric analysis, both offering high spatial resolution and consistent performance.

The Risø B3 dosimetry system is compliant with ISO/ASTM 51275:2004, which outlines the standard practice for the use of radiochromic film in radiation processing dosimetry systems. The film’s response is stable, reproducible, and provides an effective method for verifying dose delivery and uniformity across products.
